Art Speaking at Wolverhampton Art Gallery

Date:18 April

Time: 12 Noon

At: Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton

Free Sandwich lunch at 12noon in the gallery cafe.

Talk at 12:30 on audio described Art.

Followed by a workshop from around 1:00pm to 3:30pm.

The day is about audio description of visual art.

Gallery Staff have been trained to describe paintings in the gallery. (One of the audio art describers is visually impaired.) Organisers want to talk with Visually impaired people about this and have set up this workshop with trained staff and VI people.

Allan McClean from Black Country Touring will facilitate the workshop. He said:"I hope we can explore, develop, share and find a vocabulary using the pop art collection as a starting point. We'll be exploring a piece by Andy Warhol from the 1960s. We are running similar events at Wolverhampton Art Gallery about different paintings on May 9 and June 6, so please put these dates in your diary."
