Queen Alexandra College reunion
Students at QAC - formerly BRIB, Harborne, are having a get-together.
Two of the moving spirits behind the reunion are Chris Gregory, a former Principal of the college, and Jill Davis, a student at the time. Jill was there in the early 1960s and wants to contact as many former students of the time - around 1961 to 1965 as she can.
It will be a weekend affair with things kicking off at the College in Court Oak Road at around 6:00 pm on Friday 3 April. We'll go out for an evening meal at the Old House Pub where prices are quite reasonable. There will be socialising and a buffet lunch on the Saturday, and I believe a dance, disco, CD session in the evening.
People can stay overnight on Friday at accomodation in or near the college and a very reasonable £40.00 is charged for this. This might help for those wanting to come from further afield.
Jill is happy to be contacted about this on: 01527 456344 or Chris Gregory, 0121 434 3153
In an interview in this week's Sandwell Talking news paper - which is available on this site - Chris tells us that she hopes the reunion might lead to the setting up of a students guild or association similar to old student's guilds and associations for former students of other colleges.
To hear the interview go to the link below to Sandwell Talking News and find the 'Listen Now' link where you will find the interview about seven and a half minutes into the first track.

Looking forward to seeing some old faces. Not so much of the "old" I just heard someone say!
