Health and wellbeing event a big success

The SVI Committee and members were delighted by the success of the Primary Care Trust funded event held on 16 March at the Dorothy Parkes Centre in Smethwick.

The response was overwhelming and over 150 people attended to participate in the various activities throughout the day. The success of the event was made possible not only by the variety of exhibitors, taster workshops, health checks and the distinguished guests who joined us on the day but most importantly by the visually impaired people themselves who made it a truly memorable occasion.

We made many new friends and hopefully we are all a lot better informed about the support, health and social services available to us.

The feedback we have received is so encouraging and positive and the sentiments expressed in the comments are very heartening, making the sleepless nights worthwhile.  You can view the feedback from the event here (Word document)

We would like to send our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed in order to make this event such a success.
