Songs from the shows
The 50 plus SVI members who came along to the open meeting on the 19 March 08 experienced a real treat. Helen, our assistant secretary has a rare talent for choral singing which she shared with us. (Helen is a member of an esteemed amateur choral society).

This is how Helen described the event.
‘My first song was Bali Hai which Bloody Mary sings to Lieutenant Cable in the musical South Pacific. I then sang Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, from The Phantom of the Opera, in the film version Christina sings this at her father’s grave. My final song was You’ll Never Walk Alone from Carousel, which is better known as the anthem for Liverpool Football Club. In the musical Nettie sings this to Julie who is distraught following the death of her boyfriend Billy.
All three songs are on my CD and if you would like to purchase a copy please contact me on 07879 402 713, or via my e-mail address which is helenrourke106@hotmail.co.uk. All proceeds go to the British Retinitis Pigmentosis (RP) Society to fund research into fighting blindness.
I hope you enjoyed listening to me at the open meeting as much as I did singing to you’.
Helen lifted the roof at the meeting both vocally and by the level of appreciation shown; it was certainly a hard act to follow.
